Water Shut Off Date

Just a reminder as of Friday, May 6th, 2016 anyone who owes outstanding taxes will have their Water Shut Off. There are payment plans available that can be set up at the Town Office.  The Town Council has a terminal you can come to the Office and pay by Cash, Visa, or MasterCard and in the near future you will be able to pay on line once everything is set up through the banks.

On this date, you will see the maintenance man and you will know why he is there. I sent out letters to all customers that have outstanding account in February and that is a considerate amount of time to pay your taxes. An outstanding account is one that is owed for a previous year.  This water shut off will be strictly enforced and all outstanding accounts will have to be paid in full before water will be turned back on. There will be an extra $100.00 charge to have your water turned back on. Please consider your priorities if it’s a car, ski doo, atv, ect payment or if it’s the necessities of water and or sewer.

We once again would like to thank those residents who make a point of paying their accounts on time.  We feel it is only fair that everyone pay their share.  Just a reminder that if you have no transportation to the council office please contact the town office   arrangements can be made to have your payment picked up.

Come Home Year

As you are aware this is Come Home Year.  The Town is asking all residents to beautify their property to paint or put siding on their sheds, clean up garbage, debris and old car wrecks around their property.

Daylight Saving Time

It is the time of year again when daylight saving time comes into effect and the clocks will move ahead one hour at midnight March 12th 2016. Please make sure all fire, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are checked and working properly.

Chimney Cleaning

The volunteer fire brigade wants to bring attention to all residents it is not their responsibility to clean resident’s chimneys. This has been a concern over the past couple months, the fire brigade want to thank the people for their continued support.

Water Dam

There are people using the road leading to the water dam with Ski Doo’s and Four Wheelers. This is a serious violation within the town. It is only a matter of time especially with the mild weather approaching the dam is going to be contaminated with bog water due to vehicles tearing up the ground around the dam. It is illegal to use any motorized vehicle on the dam road. If you know anyone that is using this road, please contact the Town Council Office.

Safety

With the mild weather approaching, People are aware of the thin ice around Molting Pond. Please exercise caution before entering on any ponds this time of year.

Deadline For Outstanding Accounts

The deadline for payment for outstanding accounts is two months away.  On May 6th, 2016, the maintenance man will be at your house to shut off water.  Once your water is shut off the complete balance must be paid to the town manager plus a $100.00 hookup fee.

For those of you who do not have water connections.  Your accounts will be submitted to the Credit Bureau for collections with an additional 5% to offset the cost of this service. The other option will be contacting your employer to garnish your wages.  The town has different options how to pay your account, there is a payment plan that can be set up, a debit terminal that you can pay with your Bank Card, Visa, Master Card etc. and coming in April you will be able to pay your Municipal Taxes online.

We would like to sincerely thank those of you that are paying your accounts regularly.   It is not fair for a small portion of our community to use the services without paying their share of the expenses.  The town council is owed a lot of money and will be enforcing stricter measures for those residents that feel they can have a free ride.

Municipal Taxes

For all residents of this Town, everyone should have received their 2016 Municipal Tax Bills. For residents who pay their taxes, the town would like to thank you. It would not be possible for the snow clearing to be done, or garbage collection ect. without taxes being paid. For residents who are not paying or making any effort to do so, there will be water cut off and any further action that need to be done will be done. There are payment plans available which can be set up; there is a debit terminal at the town office for anyone who wishes to pay their Municipal Tax bills by Bank Card, Visa or MasterCard. Anyone paying their bill online will also be able to make payments or pay in full within the comfort of their homes. This option will be available April 2016. Payments can be set up to suit ones budget and must be paid in full by October 31 of each year.

Snow Clearing

The snow clearing season is upon us, the town is asking all residents to keep their vehicles of the roads that has to be plowed. Having vehicles parked on roads make it difficult for the snow plow to properly do the roads.

Come Home Year

This year is Come Home Year. The town is asking everyone to do their part and beautify our town by painting sheds, cleaning up your property, and everyone that is getting banners or any kind of advertising done to display it proudly

                 Parsons Pond Water Dam

There are still reports that bikes are using the road leading to the water dam. Bog water is eventually going to seep into the Towns water supply and contaminate the water. It is illegal to operate a bike or any motorized vehicle by the water dam. If you know of anyone using this road, please contact the Town Council Office.

Water Reservoir

There are people entering the road to the water reservoir on 4 wheelers and other types of bikes. There is mud entering the water from the bikes having the road spun up. If you have any concerns for family or friends that use and drink this water on a daily basis maybe you should find an alternative route to ride those bikes. This is the town’s property and if anyone knows who is using this road to the water reservoir please contact the town council office. This is a very serious concern.
